Last week, classroom 301 students enjoyed some social time after a long testing session. They worked hard to meet their winter growth goals!

Classroom 402 built functioning models of the human hand to study how bones’ joints, ligaments, and tendons work together to move our hand. How about a "thumbs up" for 402!

Gobble gobble! Classroom 205 constructed turkey traps. Students were split into groups. Each group worked as a team to build a turkey trap using certain materials. Only one group was able to successfully catch Tom the turkey and keep him in their cage. Great ideas and teamwork, classroom 205!
Temperature and windchill reminders!
- Before school if the temperature and/or windchill is zero or below, recess doors will open at 7:30 am for students to come directly inside the building.
- Safety Patrol students will not be outside on these mornings; they will help direct students inside.
- Students will have inside recess when the temperature and/or windchill is zero or below.
- If students want to play in the snow, they must be dressed in snow gear. Appropriate snow gear is: snow pants, boots, gloves/mittens, hat, and coat.

Classroom 206 students learned how to make butter! They poured the ingredients into jars. Then they took turns shaking the jars until the butter was done. It was a lot of work shaking the jars, but they had so much fun! Once the butter was done, they enjoyed it on some crackers and bread. Yum!
Our Learning Adventures Preschool students love zooming around during indoor recess! This activity helps practice balance and coordination, along with imagination skills as they pretend play.
With Thanksgiving upon us, each Discovery class wrote what they were thankful for on a feather to build a Thanksgiving turkey! A few of the things that our students are thankful for: sunshine, pets, earth, Veterans, oxygen, moms, school, water, shelter, sports, doctors, coats, vacations, and Madden football (lol). We are SO thankful for our amazing students and wonderful Discovery community!
Alternative seating? Sure! These classroom 506 students are in the hallway working hard on their math assignment of adding and subtracting mixed numbers.
In celebration of Children’s Book Week (November 3 - 9), Discovery’s library was thrilled to be one of the lucky recipients of a Dav Pilkey “Power Up With Reading” kit, courtesy of the Children’s Book Council and Every Child a Reader program. Students are excited to dive into brand-new copies of some of their favorite books!
Fourth grade students attended the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for men’s and women’s Curling. Students were so excited and had a great time cheering on the participants! #USACurling #OlympicTrials #TeamUSA

Second grade teacher, Mrs. Teer, honors Veterans by decorating the wall outside of her classroom known, as the "Wall of Honor". Second grade students were asked to bring photos and provide names and military branches of loved ones who are Veterans. During classroom 505’s Fall party, students were given a plate of pumpkin candies covered in whipped cream. Students had to find the pumpkin candies by using their mouth.
