“We can be a calm and respectful audience!” Those are the skills our first graders practiced yesterday at Washington High School to practice for their field trip next week to the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls! You can practice with them also, talking about being a good listener👂, being calm 😌, and clapping 👏🏽 when appropriate! All good skills for our Anne Sullivan All Stars! 🌟

On Monday we kick off our annual 🪙Coins for Kids🪙event donating small change to those in need! We will also have fun dress up days to help the students raise money and have fun!

🎶🎵Musical Delight 🎻🎶 Yesterday our 4th grade students took a short walk to the Oakview Library for a wonderful musical treat! They enjoyed a fun story and a small symphony piece to start their day!

And with a blink of an eye, we are already a quarter way through the 2022-2023 school year! The second quarter is here, and it’s a busy one! While this time of year tends to get chaotic, it’s important to remember how crucial student attendance is. Chronic absenteeism is a serious problem in South Dakota - a problem SFSD is committed to improving. Missing just two days a month can hurt a student’s grades and increase their chance of dropping out. Make sure your student is on the path to a bright future – and that starts in the classroom!

Let’s take a moment to celebrate all of our learning, growing, and fun!! Fall parties are underway to celebrate each student and their growth!!! Happy Friday! ✏️🍁🥳🤩
